With the arrival of July, I continued painting my Oathmark miniatures. Throughout June, I had been working on my goblin infantry. So, I began the month with five more goblin archers, including a standard bearer. How I paint - Goblin Infantry

Having finished all the Goblin Infantry miniatures that I own, I moved onto the Goblin wolf riders. I painted the miniatures in two parts: the rider and the wolf. The rider was painted with the same method as the goblin infantry. The wolves required some research, but I eventually worked out a method, although I think I needs some refining. How I paint - wolves. I finished five of these miniatures. Army Collection - Oathmark - Orcs and Goblins

Even though I have more goblin wolf riders, I wanted something different to paint. I had ordered a single sprue of elven infantry from eBay a few months ago, primarily to see what the miniatures were like. I painted these five miniatures as high elves. How I paint - Elven Infantry. I then had to find some transfers for the shields. Eventually, I found them on Etsy.

By this point in the month, I had finished 15 miniatures, but I had bought a box of Dwarven Infantry containing 30 models. So, I built half of the box and began painting. The aim was to get these miniatures painted by the end of the month. These are some of my favourite models that I have painted this year. They also inspired a great deal of nostalgia in me, as Dwarves were the first miniatures, I collected back in 1990, when I first started the hobby. I particularly enjoyed painting the shields on these warriors. The aim was to give each dwarf a feeling of individuality but at the same time making them all belong to the same army.

The final miniature I painted this month was a lone Chainrasp. I had found this ghost haunting an empty carry case, primed but unpainted. Painting it up allowed me to achieve my one and only hobby goal for the month. How I Paint - Nighthaunts.

This month, I bought 30 miniatures and I managed to paint 31. I am therefore able to tick off 'Paint more miniatures in a month than are bought' for July. While this is not a big decrease of my hobby pile, it is still a decrease. So far, this year I have painted 200 miniatures in 212 days!

Next month, I intend to buy and paint the new Orc Soldiers for Oathmark. I also have plans to paint some more Dwarven Infantry. I would also like to look into Frostgrave, a skirmish game from Osprey Games. If you have any questions, please drop them in the comments below. Bye for now, Happy Hobbying.
