Hobby Goals - October

I started October as I did
September painting aircraft for Aeronautica Imperialis. The first miniature I
painted was a third Xiphon fighter for my Emperor's Children squadron. While
these miniatures are painted, I still need to add chapter and squadron markings.

I then had a second box of Xiphon Interceptors to paint. I decided to paint half as Imperial Fists and the
other half as Sons of Horus. This would allow me to play Horus Heresy games of
Aeronautica.

With these miniatures complete,
I decided to return to painting a few Warhammer Underworlds miniatures, as
Gnarlwood, had recently been announced. I already had a member of Khagra's
Ravagers painted (I painted this when the warband was first released), so I
decided to paint up the rest of the warband. Having painted these, I was able
to 'tick' another of my hobby goals for the year, '
Paint a Warhammer
Underworld warband
'.

Next, I returned to Aeronautica
and painted up a set of objective markers. These miniatures were from Adeptus
Titanicus. I decided not to still them together. This will allow me to swap
components between the different coloured bases, allowing me to use different
ground assets for a variety of scenarios. Having painted these miniatures, I
have not included them in my miniature count for the month, as I have not
included them in any purchase numbers either.

My final two miniatures for the
month, were two Storm Eagles, one for the Blood Angels and another for the Sons
of Horus. These miniatures, further boosting my Horus Heresy collections.

This month, I have painted
twelve miniatures (and a few ground assets) and I bought eleven miniatures. I
picked up the new Gnarlwood (nine miniatures) and the two Storm Eagles, which I
have already painted. Therefore, I can also 'tick' 'Paint more miniatures in a
month than are bought', further decreasing the pile of shame. Next year, I will
be buying even fewer miniatures than this year, as I focus on just Aeronautica
and Underworlds.

If you are interested in
Aeronautica Imperialis, you might be interested in my YouTube channel (Jon
Grant Miniatures). With that I will say goodbye for now and remember 'Always
Watch Your Six'.
