Hobby Goals - December 2022
← November January 2023→
December ended up being a quiet hobby month. I did a little bit of painting and built a
sizeable number of miniature ready for next year. I struggled to paint this
month through a combination of hobby fatigue, poor light (so, I bought a
daylight lamp) and Christmas.
I did not
buy any more miniatures this month. So, for the fourth month this year I can
tick off 'Do not buy any new miniatures in a month'. This goal has been an important
one this year and has helped me to reduce my pile of shame (while at the same
time protecting my wallet).
The first
miniature I painted in December was a lone Xiphon Interceptor in the colours of
the Night Lords. I needed this aircraft for a game I was recording for my You
tube Channel. With this miniature painted I was able to tick off my second
hobby goal for the month 'Paint more miniatures in a month than are purchased'.
This goal was an excellent goal for the year. How I paint Aeronautica Imperialis - Night Lords.
I then started painting a unit of ten Daemonettes. I initially did not expect to finish the daemonettes, but as the month past I managed to get more and more paint on these miniatures. I can now tick off 'Paint a unit for an existing army'. How I paint Daemonettes.
After this, I was mainly building miniatures and putting the basecoats onto a range of models. These included:
- Painting the wolves of Rippa's Snalfangs (A Warhammer Underworlds warband)
- The basecoat on a squig herd
- A Night Lords Storm Eagle
- An Imperial Fist Storm Eagle
- A Blood Angel Xiphon Interceptor
- Five more Orc warriors for Oathmark
- Building and priming the Gorechose of Dromm (another Underworlds warband.
