Hobby Goals - March 2023
In March, I wanted to start making progress through my backlog of miniatures. This was in part, as I would be buying the new warband for Warhammer Underworlds, Gryselle's Arenai. Therefore, to achieve my hobby goal of 'Painting more miniatures in a month than are bought' I needed to get some paint on some plastic.

Next, I moved onto my squig herd for my Gloomspite Gitz. I had been meaning to paint this unit up for a while, but it took me a while to work out how I wanted them to look. I went with a classic red look using a method of my own devising.

I then decided I want to paint up a few more Necrons. I started by painting a single Warrior to write up the painting guide.

This was then followed by three more bases of Necron Scarabs.

With these AoS and 40k miniatures painted, I could go back to the more detailed Underworlds warbands, which tend to take me longer to paint. As I had bought five Underworlds miniatures this month, I wanted to paint at least five Underworlds miniatures. I decided to focus on Blackpowder's Buccaneers, specifically the two animals and the two gnoblar in the warband, the ogre, Blackpowder can wait.

Then I painted Taros, the Aetherwing, from the Truthseekers to continue the animal theme. This also meant that I had finished five Underworlds miniatures this month matching the five I had bought (also bring my total for the year to ten).

In March, I managed to paint a total of 20 miniatures, bringing my total for the year up to 41. As a result, I can to tick off the hobby goal 'Paint more miniatures in month than are bought'. Having bought 30 miniatures in total this year, my pile of unpainted plastic continues to shrink. Next month, I want to turn my attention a little more to Warhammer Underworlds. I need to start ticking off some old warbands to get ready for the new ones.
Let me know what you have been painting or if you have tried any of my painting guides. Happy hobbying.
