Maggotkin of Nurgle models work best with simple, repeatable techniques that emphasise diseased flesh, corroded armour, and muted green cloth across the army.

In this guide, I'm bringing together all of my Maggotkin painting methods, covering different styles and techniques so you can choose what works best for your army.

I intend to continue adding material to this guide as time passes.

These smaller groups are a great way to experiment with variations in your painting style. I use them to build smaller forces of miniatures with different colour schemes

Bringing It All Together

The most important thing when painting Maggotkin of Nurgle is consistency.

  • I have found Nurgle miniatures look better when the paint schemes are kept neat.
  • The classic green and brown palette has been a staple of my collection, reflecting the decay and corruption at the heart of the Plague god's followers.

Final Thoughts

Maggotkin of Nurgle are an excellent army for both beginners and experienced painters. You can achieve effective results quickly, but there is also plenty of scope to push techniques further.

By combining a simple base method with a few key detail techniques, you can create a strong and cohesive army.

Final Thoughts

I have loved playing Chaos forces ever since I first entered the hobby over 35 years ago. When it comes to painting Chaos armies, I always return to the classic colour schemes, the ones covered in the original Realms of Chaos Books from the late 1980s and early 1990s. For Nurgle, that means diseased flesh, greens, browns and corroded and rusted metal.
