How to Paint Pink Horrors of Tzeentch

How to Paint Pink Horrors of Tzeentch

In this guide, I will show you how I paint Pink Horrors of Tzeentch, focusing on vibrant pink flesh and rich gold. This method uses simple layering and glazing to create a clean, striking tabletop finish.

Step 1 – Pink Daemon Flesh

The daemon was given a basecoat of a 1:1 mix of Screamer Pink and Pink Horror, applied in two thin coats to achieve a smooth, solid finish.

The first highlight was applied using Pink Horror, leaving the basecoat visible in the recesses. A second highlight was then applied using a 1:1 mix of Pink Horror and white, focusing on the raised areas while leaving some of the previous layer visible.

A final highlight of a 1:2 mix of Pink Horror and white was applied sparingly to key areas such as knuckles and facial features.

To finish, the highlights were brought together using a 1:2 mix of Carroburg Crimson and Lahmian Medium, which softens transitions and deepens the overall tone.

Step 2 – Mouth and Teeth

The mouth and tongue were carefully painted with Sigvald Burgundy, then highlighted with Screamer Pink.

The teeth and fingernails were basecoated with Zandri Dust, washed with Agrax Earthshade, and then highlighted with Karak Stone followed by Screaming Skull.

Step 3 – Gold Details

The gold details were picked out with Retributor Armour, then washed with Reikland Fleshshade.

Highlights were applied using Liberator Gold, followed by a final highlight using a mix of Liberator Gold and Stormhost Silver.

Step 4 – Final Details

The gemstones were painted with Flesh Tearers Red. Once dry, the lower third of each gem was painted with Evil Suns Scarlet, followed by a thin line of Wild Rider Red along the bottom edge. A small dot of white was then added to the upper area to create a reflection.

The eyes were painted with Corax White, and the pupils were picked out with Kantor Blue.

Step 5 – Blue Flames

The flames were painted separately using my blue flame method.

Step 6 – Basing

Finish the miniature by basing it in a style that matches your army or chosen environment.

Final Thoughts

Pink Horrors are a great opportunity to work with bright colours and strong highlights. By keeping the layers thin and controlled, you can achieve a vibrant finish that stands out on the tabletop while remaining efficient when painting larger units.
