How to Paint Hedonites of Slaanesh
How to Paint Hedonites of Slaanesh
Hedonites of Slaanesh combine smooth skin, rich colours, and fine detail, making them both striking and challenging to paint. The key is maintaining control and consistency across different materials. This hub focuses on straightforward techniques for building clean blends and strong contrasts across an army.
My Hedonites of Slaanesh guides are based on the late 1980s early 1990s pastel colour schemes.

Bringing It All Together
The most important principle when painting Hedonites of Slaanesh is consistency.
In my force, I use a shared palette of pastel blues, pinks, yellows, greens, and purples across every model. However, each miniature uses these colours in different placements, keeping the army visually cohesive while ensuring no two models feel identical.
Certain elements remain consistent throughout:
- The characteristic crab claws are always painted in a vibrant pink, acting as a visual anchor.
- Metallics are unified with pale golds and purple-tinted silvers, reinforcing the army’s distinct aesthetic.
Final Thoughts
Hedonites of Slaanesh offer a rare opportunity to push beyond traditional colour schemes and experiment with something bold and unconventional.
The goal is to create something that feels unnatural and discordant, yet still visually harmonious. This tension is what makes a Slaanesh force truly stand out.
Above all, remember: Slaanesh is the god of excess.
The more extravagant and outlandish your scheme, the better.
