Realmstone Raiders - Deck Review

Image
NEW VERSION Overview Realmstone Raiders is a Rivals deck for Warhammer Underworlds that introduces the "Raid" mechanic, offering a unique playstyle centered around deck manipulation and strategic resource management. Core Mechanics: The Raid System At the heart of Realmstone Raiders lies the Raid mechanic. After the first successful melee attack in an action step, you may "raid" a number of times equal to the bounty value of the target. Each raid involves revealing the top card of your power deck: if it's an Emberstone card, you can either play it immediately (if it's a ploy) or equip it (if it's an upgrade), provided you have the necessary glory. If it's not an Emberstone card, you place it at the bottom of your deck. Objectives – Early Scoring Opportunities The objectives in this deck are focused on reward...

How I choose a Warhammer Underworlds warband for a tournament

Playing in Warhammer Underworlds: First Edition Tournaments I've been playing Warhammer Underworlds competitively for a couple of years now. I've had a bit of success. I generally finish within the top 8 of any event I attend, and I even won a small Rivals tournament. During the first edition of Underworlds, I used a range of warbands including Magore’s Fiends , Xandire’s Truthseekers , and Lady Harrow’s Mournflight . The Truthseekers were the warband I first learned to play competitively with. They taught me about the importance of glory ceilings, the reliability of different playstyles, and how you can be "winning" through kills while still losing in Obj...

What's new for Warhammer Underworlds?

Warhammer Underworlds is back for a new edition! As such, I intend to invest more time into my blog and focus on this new edition. It has been months since we had any news about Warhammer Underworlds. Today, on the 5th of October, we received an update. At first, I thought I would do a run-down of all the items I picked up from the teaser video, but everyone is doing that. Instead, I want to share my own thoughts. I'm obviously excited about this new edition—this revamp of the game means it will exist for at least another year or more (GW tends to have plans in the works for over a year). I always get extremely annoyed when a game is discontinued, leaving me with hundreds of pounds worth of miniatures and game components that are basically useless. So, the fact that the game will continue is great news. From the card art images (which are now photographs, more on this later), we can see older warbands like Kainan's Reapers, Brethren of the Bolt, Khagra's Ravagers, the Gnarl...
