Warhammer Underworlds - Playing Xandire's Truthseekers

Image
Checkout my  Warhammer Underworlds - Contents Page for more articles. Xandire's Truthseekers are a formidable four-member warband of Stormcast, introduced in the treacherous labyrinth of Harrowdeep. Comprising three stalwart Stormcast warriors and a swift Aetherwing named Taros, they are led by Xandire, a fearsome warrior-wizard with untapped magical potential. While Xandire's magical abilities lie dormant in their battles, the warband is known for their aggressive playstyle, making them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Xandire - The Leader: Although Xandire possesses magical abilities, her role in this warband leans more towards close combat. She wields a fearsome three-smash, two-damage attack with the Cleave ability. Dhoraz - The Big Hitter: Dhoraz is the warband's powerhouse, dealing devastating blows to enemy fighters. While his sacrifice may be necessary at times, his Scything attack (when inspired) can wreak havoc on multiple foes. Stormrider - The Arc...

Hobby Goals - November '23

Image
( Red  items were completed this month,  purple  items in previous months) Checkout my  Warhammer Underworlds  for more articles. Checkout my  How to paint... articles  can be found here. Checkout my  Hobby Goals  for more articles November arrived and I was due to attend my third Warhammer Underworlds tournament.  I again did not buy any miniatures during the month, although I did pick up a couple of paints. I decided to take Lady Harrow's Mournflight to the tournament. I had already painted this warband a few years ago for my Nighthaunt Age of Sigmar army. I had recently found a second set of the Myrmourn Banshees in my boxes of miniatures, stored in the loft, and decided to paint them up.  As such, I started the month by painting four Myrmourn Banshees. This allowed me tick off my first hobby goal for the month 'Paint a unit for an existing army' or 'Paint a Warhammer Underworlds warband'. For this unit I used my How I P...

How I Paint - Skaven - Clan Pestilens

Image
With the release of Skabbik Plaguepack for Warhammer Underworlds, I needed a guide to paint up this warband of Plague Monks.  I wanted to go with the classic green robes for these devotees of disease. I was also keen to get a nice luminous look for the funes of the plague censers. This is my guide, I hope you enjoy. How I Paint - Skaven - Warlord Skritch Priming and Underpaint Begin by undercoating the miniature with  Chaos Black  spray Then give the whole miniature, except the weapon blade and the base, a basecoat of  Mournfang Brown . You do not need to be too tidy at this stage. Keep the paint relatively thin so as not obscure any details and make sure it gets into the recesses. For this job, I use an old medium basecoat brush, which has bristles pointing in all directions, or course an airbrush would be faster, but I would avoid using a rattle can. The brown gives a nice warm base to build the colours of the miniature upon. Once the brown was full dry, the...

How I paint Aeronautica Imperialis - Asuryani Aeldari - Biel-Tan

Image
I  have always wanted to play Aeldari in some form or another, but I have never quite got around to it. For Aeronautica, however, I finally have some miniatures and so I decided I wanted to paint them for my favourite Craftworld, Biel-Tan. These aircraft are going to be primarily white with some emerald green. I also want this to be an exceptionally clean paint job, so changing the painting water will be key. More of my  Aeronautica articles   can be found here. Paints and Materials required: Revell Masking Tape 6mm   Grey Seer spray Revell Spray Colour White Matt Apothecary White   White Scar   Army Painter Matt White Dawnstone   Iron Hands Steel Basilicanum Grey Gryph-Charger Grey   Aethermatic Blue Deathworld Forest Warpstone Glow Biel-Tan Green Moot Green Mephiston Red Evil Suns Scarlet  Retributor Gold Begin by giving each plane a light undercoat with Grey Seer spray . How I paint Aeronautica Imperialis - Tau

I have collected and played Tau ever since they were release back in 2001. I have a Tau army for Warhammer 40,000 (although it is badly outdated now). I have a Tau fleet for Battlefleet Gothic (all of the Forge World ships) and with the release of Aeronautica Imperialis, I have taken them to the skies. Recently, I put together a review of the Tau faction for Aeronautica Imperialis. This little guide leads you through how I painted my Tau Empire aircraft. I also have a guide for my Imperial Navy aircraft. More of my  Aeronautica articles   can be found here. How I paint Aeronautica Imperialis - Orks - Evil Suns

Image
The Orks were one of the first two factions released for Aeronautica Imperialis. The Orks of the Evil Suns Clan are the obsessed with going fast and many join the Kult of Speed. Members of the Evil Suns Clan often paint their aircraft red, firmly believing in the old greenskin adage that 'red onez go fasta'. For this painting guide I am going to paint my dakka-jet red. Here is the link to my Ork faction review . More of my  Aeronautica articles   can be found here. More of my  How to paint... articles  can be found here. Paints required: Chaos Black spray Mechanicum Standard Grey spray Khorne Red Agrax Earthshade Evil Suns Scarlet Wild Rider Red Troll Slayer Orange Leadbelcher Nuln Oil Ironbreaker Averland Sunset Seraphim Sepia Yriel Yellow Flash Gitz Yellow Abaddon Black Corax White White Scar Gryph Charger Grey Balthasar Gold The plane was undercoated with Chaos Black spray. I then gave the plane a very light dusting with Mechanicum Standard Grey spray. I ...
