Hobby Goals - January

    February → I made satisfactory progress with my hobby goals in January. I managed to paint a total of 17 miniatures and bought nothing except a few paints. So, immediately, I was able to tick off 'Paint more miniatures in a month than are bought' and 'Do not buy any new miniatures for a month' . These two items are a major part of my goals for the year. I ultimately want to reduce the amount of unpainted plastic I have.  In January, I focused my painting on  miniatures for Aeronautica Imperialis (AI) and Marvel Crisis Protocol. My first aim was to finish the one remaining miniature I had for the Tau Empire in AI, the Swiftfire Platform. With that complete, I had finished my AI Tau force. After this, I then switched to painting the Imperial Navy. I had some Thunderbolt fighters and a pair of Marauder Destroyers. I want to paint one of my Thunderbolts as an 'ace' pilot. Finally, I had an Ork 'Eavy Bomber left sitting in the box. As I am trying to paint up...

Warband rating

In an effort to compare warbands simply I created a rating system, made up of four categories each rated out of five. The rating are based on the fighters uninspired stats. I used uninspired stats, as this is the state of the warband at the beginning of the game, when all the fighters are still in action. Durability Durability is based on the average Health per fighter combined with the probability of success of the Save roll.  Range Range is the average Range of each fighter's longest ranged weapon.  Damage reliability Damage reliability is based on the average of each fighter's most damaging weapon and the probability of the success of the fighter's attacks.  Speed Speed is the average Move value of the fighters in the warband.
