Army Collection - Nighthaunt

Image
I started playing Games Workshop’s Warhammer Fantasy Battle (WFB) way back in 1990. Over the years, I’ve collected a variety of armies: the Undead, the Empire, Ogre Kingdoms, Chaos Warriors, and Daemons. When Age of Sigmar (AoS) arrived, I initially gravitated toward the Maggotkin of Nurgle—primarily as a daemon-based force that could also be used in Warhammer 40K . Eventually, I found myself drawn to the Nighthaunt gheists. Throughout my WFB days, I mostly played Undead forces. So, when the Nighthaunt emerged in AoS, they naturally became my chosen faction. I didn’t care how powerful they were on the tabletop; I was far more interested in them as a collection of miniatures to paint. How I Paint Nighthaunts On the gaming side, I’ve been hooked on Warhammer Underworlds since the release of Nightvault , the game’s second season. This was also when the Thorns of the Briar Queen were introduced—the first warband I ever played. My Thorns After several years and many warbands, I discover...

Kamandora’s Blades - Warband Review

Image
Kamandora’s Blades worship Khorne, but they are not front line warriors. These scavengers stalk the bloodsoaked battlefields left behind by the Blades of Khorne, preying on stragglers and survivors. They hunt not for glory, but for skulls, bleeding out their victims with slow, deliberate malice before claiming their grisly prize. Kamandora, the Mother of Hate [1], leads this brutal warband with her loyal hound Kannat [2]. Alongside her are the grim and dependable Throkk [3], and the ruthless scavengers Ghalista [4] and Antro Krast [5]. Together, they pick their way through the aftermath of battle, hunting down those who slipped through the net of Khorne’s fury. Every skull they claim is another offering in service to their dark purpose. But they do not keep these trophies. Each skull is meant for a singular destination: the towering pyramid of bone where Korghos Khul ascended to daemonhood. The Blades' purpose is grim, but resolute. After all, even in the shadow of madness, it help...

Daggok's Stab-Ladz - Warband Review

Image
Introduction Daggok Finksteala is on a murderous mission to decapitate the realms' brightest fighters. With each head Daggok takes, his kunnin' increases - or so he believes - and he means to gather enough stats to make him a killboss. Jagz da Bleeda and Hurrk da Howla are willing to hedge bets on the boss, using their own kunnin' and brutal tactics. Grakk da Hook plays the part of berserker, but his real job is to snag and drag down shields so his mates can lay into foes. Fighter Characteristics Leading the Stab Ladz is Daggok Finksteala.  His base stats are strong: Move 3, 1 Block for defence, 4 Wounds, and a 2 Glory bounty. He comes swinging with two melee profiles: one a Range 1 attack hitting on 2 Hammers for 2 Damage, and the other a slightly safer Range 2 attack also on 2 Hammers but for 1 Damage. However, it’s when Daggok Inspires that things really get nasty. He gains +1 Move and jumps to an impressive 2 Block defence, making him significantly harder to take down...

How I Paint - Legions Imperialis - Iron Warriors

Image
Paints used: Chaos Black Spray Iron Warriors Abaddon Black Averland Sunset Corax White Mephiston Red Balthasar Gold Yriel Yellow Evil Sunz Scarlet Wild Rider Red Leadbelcher Ironbreaker Eshin Grey Nuln Oil Agrax Earthshade Gryph-Charger Grey I began by undercoating the aircraft with Chaos Black Spray . The miniature was then given a basecoat with Iron Warriors with a small quantity of Abaddon Black . This was thinned with a little water. I applied two thin coats to get a nice solid base colour. When the basecoats were full dry,  Nuln Oil  was  painted into the recesses and around the panels of the aircraft using a small  detail brush. Try to be neat but do not  worry too much as you can always tidy the miniature up later.  Allow the Nuln Oil to full dry. Once fully dry, the miniature was dry brushed with Iron Warriors. This was followed by another dry brush of Leadbelcher. Then finally with Ironbreaker.  With the fuselage painted, I ...
